The Presidency has advised Nigerians, especially those travelling long distances, to avoid travelling at night because of security concerns on some major roads in the North-Central region.

The advice was given by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Dr. Abiodun Essiet. She said recent security incidents have made it necessary for travellers to be more careful.

Essiet urged people to plan their trips during the daytime and stay alert while travelling. She stressed that personal safety should be more important than convenience.

She also advised transport companies to temporarily stop operating night journeys until the security situation improves. According to her, this would help protect passengers and drivers from potential attacks.

The presidential aide said the government remains committed to protecting citizens and urged Nigerians to cooperate with security agencies. She encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

Essiet further called on Nigerians to follow all security warnings and guidelines issued by relevant agencies as efforts continue to safeguard lives and property across the country.
