“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she said.
Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she welcomed a baby girl more than two years ago, saying she kept the child away from public attention to protect her peace and family.
The actress made the revelation on Sunday in an emotional Instagram post marking her birthday, sharing photographs from her pregnancy and a close-up image of her daughter’s hand.
Adunni said she and her family deliberately kept the birth private for over two years, not out of shame or secrecy, but because they wanted to enjoy the blessing without public pressure.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote.
The actress said the journey came after years of waiting and was marked by private battles, strength and answered prayers.
“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she said.
Adunni also appeared to address possible gossip around the birth of the child, warning against the assumptions often made about women, motherhood and private family choices.
“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached,” she wrote.
The actress described her daughter, whom she called Baby Sal, as an answered prayer and proof of God’s timing.
“God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. A journey of almost a decade. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she added.
Adunni said while many people know her public image, there is a private side of her life that may never be fully understood by fans and followers.
“Adunni Ade online is one thing. Adunni Adewale at home is something you may never fully understand and that’s okay,” she wrote.
In what appeared to be a direct response to possible speculation about the circumstances surrounding the birth of her daughter, the actress added: “No single home is or was broken in the making of our Baby Sal.”
Adunni, who is already a mother of two sons, thanked those who had shown love and prayed for her family over the years.
The revelation has drawn attention from fans and colleagues, as it opens a major chapter of the actress’s private life that she had successfully kept away from public scrutiny for more than two years.
