"The NDC cannot really go far. It is not a serious political party, and many of those who have rushed into it will eventually regret their decision. The party is a political set-up designed to attract and capture politicians," Ayodele stated.

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political project with limited prospects, warning politicians aligning themselves with the party to reconsider their expectations.

In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele alleged that the party was created for a specific political purpose and would ultimately disappoint many of those who have joined its ranks.

According to the cleric, the NDC lacks the structure and long-term viability required to emerge as a major political force in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

“The NDC cannot really go far. It is not a serious political party, and many of those who have rushed into it will eventually regret their decision. The party is a political set-up designed to attract and capture politicians,” Ayodele stated.

The prophet further claimed that the party does not possess the capacity to survive beyond the current political cycle, maintaining that its future remains uncertain.

“The NDC will not last long. It is a party with no political future. I pity those who have pitched their tents there because, in my view, it is a political trap,” he stated.

Primate Ayodele also used the opportunity to reiterate his long-held position on opposition politics in Nigeria, stressing that only a united opposition front would stand a realistic chance of challenging the ruling party in future elections.

According to him, fragmentation among opposition parties would continue to weaken their electoral strength and reduce their chances of achieving meaningful political change.

The cleric recalled that when the NDC was launched by former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, he had already expressed reservations about the party’s prospects.

At the time, Ayodele reportedly predicted that the party would struggle to make any significant impact in future elections.

“In the coming election, even if the founder of the party contests on its platform, he will not succeed. The party will not record any tangible achievement in 2027,” he said.

The NDC is one of several emerging political platforms seeking to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections, as discussions continue across the political landscape about possible realignments, coalitions, and strategies capable of reshaping Nigeria’s electoral dynamics.
