According to him, Democracy Day offers an opportunity to reflect not only on the right of citizens to vote but also on the importance of unity, inclusion and shared responsibility in nation-building.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Olalekan Ayinla Movement, Hon. Olalekan Ayinla, has called on Nigerians to uphold peace, love and justice as essential pillars for the growth and consolidation of democracy in the country.

In a message marking the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, the All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart congratulated Nigerians on the occasion and urged citizens to safeguard the nation’s democratic values and institutions.

Ayinla stressed the need for Nigerians to protect and defend democratic governance, warning that failure to do so could jeopardise the freedoms and rights guaranteed under democracy.

According to him, Democracy Day offers an opportunity to reflect not only on the right of citizens to vote but also on the importance of unity, inclusion and shared responsibility in nation-building.

“Today, we honour not only the right to vote but also the strength that comes from unity, inclusion and the collective responsibility we share in building a stronger nation,” he said.

The APC chieftain noted that democracy thrives when every citizen is given a voice and treated with dignity, irrespective of social status, background or physical ability.

He said the Olalekan Ayinla Foundation remains committed to improving the lives of vulnerable groups through initiatives aimed at empowering the less privileged, supporting widows, promoting inclusiveness and developing future leaders.

“Our mission is centred on making a positive impact in the lives of people. We believe that a strong democracy is built on a compassionate society where no one is left behind,” he stated.

Ayinla further urged Nigerians to recommit themselves to the values of peace, justice, love and active citizenship, describing them as critical ingredients for national development and democratic advancement.

“As we celebrate this important day, let us renew our commitment to peace, love, justice and active citizenship for the progress of our beloved nation,” he added.
