SDAF Auditions New Students Soon

The Stella Damasus Arts Foundation (SDAF) is currently registering youths interested in its three months free training in acting, singing and visual arts, and an audition will be held soon.

Aimed at providing economic and intellectual support for the youths; using the Arts as its primary tool, the SDA Foundation was founded by one of Nollywood’s finest, Stella Damasus.

According to Stella, the project “is designed to give aspiring actors and singers access to proper acting and vocal training. All the facilitators from the last training programme and the forthcoming programme are volunteers who are experienced and highly skilled in music and drama.

“At the end of the three months course, the students would have acquired, not only a certificate, but also skills which they would ordinarily not have had easy access to. We are doing this as part of efforts to curb idleness among Nigerian youth and equipping them for the future.”

NollywoodReel gathered that beneficiaries are selected based on their performance during the entry auditions. As part of the programme, students taking the singing course are required to perform before an audience in order to build their confidence as performers, while the drama students on their part are required to act short scenes and monologues for their tests, which are recorded and evaluated.
