Social Media divided over Baba Ijesha, Luminee baby announcement

Nigerians have reacted strongly after actor Baba Ijesha announced the birth of his baby boy with celebrity fashion designer and stylist, CEO Luminee.

The couple shared the news on social media on Monday, posting maternity photos and emotional messages. They revealed their son’s name as King Kagar Omiyinka.

Baba Ijesha thanked his partner, calling her his “strong Jagaban” and using affectionate Yoruba expressions. Luminee also described him as “one in a million” with a “pure heart.”

The announcement came about seven months after Baba Ijesha was released from prison in November 2025. This timing led many Nigerians online to question when the pregnancy actually began.

Some social media users wondered if the pregnancy started before his release, while others asked if conjugal visits were allowed in prison. The comments sparked heavy debate across platforms.

While many people congratulated the couple and wished them well, others strongly criticised the relationship. Some critics pointed to Baba Ijesha’s past conviction in 2021 for sexual assault of a minor, saying it made the situation controversial.
