Nigerian Army troops have rescued seven farmers and recovered motorcycles from bandits in Gandi community in Rabah local government area of Sokoto state.

The operation by troops of Operation Fansan Yamma followed bandits’ attack on farmers in Gandi community.

A credible security source from the area disclosed the operational success to the News Agency of Nigeria in Sokoto.

The source said troops of 8 Division of Nigerian Army deployed in Gandi undertook the operation and during the encounter one civilian sustained a gunshot wound from bandits.

The source said the incident occurred on Tuesday morning, adding that the wounded victim has been taken to general hospital Gandi for treatment. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
