JAMB drops original UTME result slip with new admission details

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now print their Original Result Slips, a key document required for admission processing into tertiary institutions across the country.

JAMB disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

According to the examination body, the Original Result Slip became available for printing on Wednesday and can be accessed by candidates from any internet-enabled device.

The board explained that the document contains important details beyond the UTME score, including the candidate’s photograph, national ranking and other security features designed to authenticate the result.

“The Original Result Slip contains the candidate’s photograph, national ranking and other security features. It is part of the official document required for post-UTME processing and consideration by tertiary institutions,” the statement said.

JAMB advised candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions to print the document promptly and verify all information contained therein.

The board noted that candidates could conveniently access and print their slips from their homes, offices or accredited business centres without the need to visit any JAMB office.

It further urged candidates to keep copies of the document for future admission-related processes and reference purposes.

The release of the Original Result Slip is expected to pave the way for the commencement of post-UTME screening exercises and other admission activities by tertiary institutions nationwide.

Candidates were also advised to immediately report any discrepancies observed on the slip through the appropriate JAMB channels for prompt resolution.

The Original Result Slip remains one of the critical documents required by institutions in determining candidates’ eligibility during the admission process.
