Nigeria singer Emoseh Khamofu, popularly known as Bloody Civilian, has spoken up on what influenced her choice of her stage name.
While speaking during an interview with Not Just Ok podcast, the 26-year-old revealed that her name serves as a tribute to victims of conflict and a symbol of resilience in the face of hardship.
She explained that her name is rooted in the impact of violence on communities in northern Nigeria, adding that both of her ancestral communities have been affected by violence.
“The story behind the name Bloody Civilian is really just inspired by military violence in the North. Both of my villages have been affected: one was attacked recently, while the other was completely destroyed,” she said.
