#EkitiDecides: PDP candidate raises concerns over voting delays

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede, has raised concerns over delays in accreditation and voting, as well as alleged voter intimidation during Saturday’s governorship election.

Oluyede made the allegations shortly after casting his vote at Osaguru Hall, Unit 6, Ward 3, Ikere-Ekiti, describing the voting process at his polling unit as slow and unsatisfactory.

He said only a few voters had been processed long after voting commenced, a situation he suggested could affect participation.

The PDP candidate also alleged that security operatives deployed to the area were intimidating voters, further claiming that some officers were operating in unofficial vehicles.

He said he had documented some of the incidents and would present evidence when necessary.

Oluyede described the situation at his polling unit as unacceptable, alleging that the slow pace of voting could discourage turnout.

He further complained about delays in the deployment of technical support, saying electoral officials had yet to address issues affecting accreditation at the unit
