British-Nigerian entrepreneur and Chairman of Pillar Point Homes and Properties Investment Ltd, Ayodele Momodu, has reaffirmed his commitment to philanthropy through initiatives focused on education, healthcare and youth empowerment

British-Nigerian entrepreneur and Chairman of Pillar Point Homes and Properties Investment Ltd, Ayodele Momodu, has reaffirmed his commitment to philanthropy through initiatives focused on education, healthcare and youth empowerment, saying sustainable development begins with investing in people.

Momodu, who has built a career in real estate and community development, said his philosophy of leadership extends beyond constructing buildings to creating opportunities that improve lives.

According to him, his passion for community service predates the establishment of Pillar Point Homes, citing his involvement with the Apapa Concerned Youth Movement and the founding of Best Vision Tutors as early efforts aimed at promoting education and youth development.

He said these experiences shaped his belief that lasting progress can only be achieved by improving access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities.

In his home state of Kwara, Momodu has continued to implement various social intervention programmes, including free medical outreach for elderly residents.

The medical missions provide health screenings, consultations, medication and specialist care for senior citizens, many of whom have limited access to quality healthcare.

He has also introduced scholarship and bursary programmes to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to continue their education.

Beyond education, Momodu said his empowerment initiatives are designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills, mentorship and start-up support to help them become entrepreneurs and employers.

According to him, empowering young people is essential to building stronger communities and reducing unemployment.

The philanthropist said the same philosophy guides the projects undertaken by Pillar Point Homes.

He explained that developments such as Araromi Signature and New Lekki Smart City are designed as integrated communities that incorporate education and healthcare alongside residential infrastructure.

He added that Manor Park Farm & Resort promotes agriculture and tourism, while I-Farm Africa provides opportunities for individuals to invest in agriculture and participate in value chains within the sector.

Momodu said philanthropy should not be viewed as a separate activity from business but as an integral part of responsible leadership.

“Whether we are supporting communities in Ilorin or developing smart cities, our goal remains the same—to create opportunities that improve lives and contribute to a more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

He added that his long-term vision is to build communities where access to quality healthcare, education, economic empowerment and property ownership are available to more Nigerians.

According to him, nation-building requires deliberate investment in people alongside infrastructure, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved when businesses and individuals work together to create lasting social impact.
