A tricycle rider died while two passengers sustained injuries in a late-night road traffic crash at Alasia bus stop along the Sango-Ijoko road in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun State.

The fatal accident occurred at about 10:10 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, when a TVS commercial tricycle, with registration number EPE 44 QM, reportedly rammed into the rear of a stationary white HOWO truck with registration number AAA 457 YF.

According to eyewitness accounts, the crash was caused by the tricycle rider’s blurred vision, which allegedly impaired his ability to see the stationary truck in time, leading to the collision.

The tricycle rider died on the spot, while the two passengers sustained various degree of injuries, the eyewitnesses said.

Officials of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Sango-Ijoko Command, in collaboration with PAPA OSCAR emergency responders, arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.

TRACE said the injured victims have been taken to an undisclosed hospital by a Good Samaritan before the rescue team arrived, while the deceased was evacuated to the State Hospital, Ifo morgue.

The damaged truck and tricycle were later towed off the road to the PAPA OSCAR yard to facilitate further investigation and restore free flow of traffic.

Although traffic was initially disrupted following the crash, normal vehicular movement was restored after the emergency responders cleared the scene.
