The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency in the 2027 election, Abdulquawiy Olododo, has moved to calm post-primary tension in the party, declaring that there was “no winner or loser” after his emergence.
Olododo, in a statement issued in Ilorin, thanked Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for their roles in his emergence as the APC standard-bearer.
He described his victory at the primary election as a collective medal for the party and the people of Ilorin East and Ilorin South, saying it reflected a shared desire to strengthen the constituency’s voice at the National Assembly.
According to him, his ambition is not driven by personal gain, but by the need to provide purposeful, experienced and youth-driven representation for the constituency.
Olododo admitted that the primary was keenly contested, but said he was humbled by the confidence party members reposed in him.
He pledged not to betray the trust of APC members and the people of the constituency if elected in 2027.
The APC candidate paid special tribute to Governor AbdulRazaq, whom he described as a leader and mentor.
He praised the governor’s commitment to good governance and his deliberate effort to raise a new generation of leaders in Kwara State.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership, vision, and selfless service have continued to inspire many young politicians and professionals across the state,” Olododo said.
He also commended his co-aspirants for what he called their maturity, civility and sportsmanship during the primary.
Olododo said the APC family must not allow the outcome of the contest to divide it ahead of the general election.
He promised to work closely with other aspirants, party leaders, elders, women, youths and stakeholders to strengthen the party before the 2027 polls.
The candidate also thanked party faithful across Ilorin East and Ilorin South for their support and confidence, assuring them that he would offer responsive, people-centred and impactful representation if elected.
He urged APC members to close ranks and focus on the bigger task of securing victory in the general elections.
Olododo said the party must consolidate its achievements and promote inclusive development across Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency.
He expressed confidence that with unity, hard work and God’s guidance, the APC would record a resounding victory in 2027.
