Eagles Regroup For Liberia Monday

Barring any unforeseen circumstance, the Super Eagles are expected to regroup on Monday in Abuja ahead of their 15 February international friendly match against Liberia and the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda, which holds a fortnight later.

Media Officer of the team, Ben Alaiya, disclosed that the home-based Super Eagles players are to converge in Abuja to plan for the friendly, which was earlier postponed because of the recent nationwide strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.

The veteran journalist said the Chief Coach of the team, Stephen Keshi, who is expected back in the country this weekend from South Africa, where he is working as an analyst for SuperSport would use the friendly to pick players for the Nations Cup qualifier.

Alaiya, who also is the General Manager and Editor-In-Chief of SportsDay Newspaper, said: “The home-based Super Eagles players are to regroup in Abuja on Monday ahead of the international friendly match against Liberia, the Big Boss has also informed me that he would be returning to the country this weekend.”

Alaiya further said he believes that the team under Keshi are on the right path, stressing that it is really a new beginning in the team.
