Gusau felicitates Shehu Dikko as NSC boss clocks another year

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, MON has celebrated the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, as the latter clocked another year on Saturday.

Gusau, who is also President of the WAFU B zone, described Dikko as “a round peg in a round hole who has not only worked tirelessly to improve the fortunes of Nigeria in sports internationally, but has shown total commitment to engineering a viable and sustainable domestic sports economy that all stakeholders will be proud of.

“The Nigeria Football Federation felicitates a visionary, energetic and dedicated leader, who has continued to justify the confidence reposed in him by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR in appointing him as Chairman of the National Sports Commission.

We wish him many more years of meaningful and productive service to our dear country, and we have confidence that he is set to lead Nigeria sports to higher heights of excellence.”

Gusau asserted that Dikko’s exceptional leadership style and heartwarming people skills have continued to rub off positively on the various National Football Teams, and praised his quiet diligence and doggedness that has continued to endear him to peers, superiors and subordinates alike.

The NFF President noted the many positive strides of the National Sports Commission in the areas of sports development and reward system since the ascension of Dikko to office, saying he has broken many new grounds and does not look like stopping.

“Alhaji Shehu Dikko is a breath of fresh air in the leadership of Nigeria sports.

The NFF has enjoyed a harmonious working relationship with the National Sports Commission since he came on board and we are happy about his keen interests and concerns about the welfare of the various National Teams. We wish him a long life in good health and sound mind.”
