FIFA stated that any new violation could also attract additional disciplinary measures alongside the activation of the original sanction.

FIFA has suspended the enforcement of a match ban handed to Folarin Balogun for a period of one year, allowing the striker to remain eligible for selection and participation in matches.

According to FIFA, the decision was made under Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, which allows certain sanctions to be suspended during a probation period.

The world football governing body explained that the suspension of the ban will remain in place for the next 12 months. However, if Balogun commits another offence of a similar nature and seriousness during that period, the suspended punishment will immediately take effect.

FIFA stated that any new violation could also attract additional disciplinary measures alongside the activation of the original sanction.

As a result of the ruling, Balogun remains available for club and international selection, provided he complies with FIFA’s disciplinary regulations throughout the probationary period.

The decision offers the forward an opportunity to continue his career without interruption while remaining under close disciplinary observation for the next year.
