Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson could be making a major move into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with reports linking him to the role of iconic X-Men villain Apocalypse.
The casting speculation emerged as Marvel Studios continues preparations for its upcoming X-Men projects, although the studio has not officially confirmed the report.
The claim was shared by entertainment insider My Time to Shine Hello on X, suggesting that Johnson is being considered for the role of the powerful mutant villain.
If confirmed, the move would mark a major shift for Johnson, who previously entered the superhero world as DC character Black Adam.
Apocalypse is one of the most dangerous villains in the X-Men universe. The ancient mutant, known for his immense strength and belief in survival of the strongest, was previously portrayed by Oscar Isaac in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.
Johnson’s possible involvement comes as Marvel Studios works to expand its X-Men storyline following the franchise’s integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously hinted that familiar X-Men characters will play a role in the company’s future plans, though details about upcoming projects remain limited.
The report also comes ahead of Marvel’s next major crossover projects, including Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to have a significant impact on the future direction of the MCU.
