2027: ‘Abia has no choice, I’m your next governor’ – Doris Ogala

Nollywood actress and African Action Congress governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has declared that residents have “no choice” but to accept her as their next governor.

Ogala made the controversial statement during a TikTok Live session, with a clip of the broadcast gaining attention on social media on Sunday.

Speaking confidently about the 2027 governorship election, the actress insisted that her emergence as governor had already been ordained by God.

“I, Doris Ogala, as your governor, you don’t have a choice,” she said.

“Doris will be your governor. You don’t have a choice. God has said it, so shall it be. It is very simple. Why don’t you get that?”

The declaration sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers praising her confidence while others questioned her choice of words in addressing voters.

Ogala recently emerged as the AAC governorship candidate for Abia State ahead of the 2027 election.

Following her nomination, she vowed to defeat incumbent Governor Alex Otti and promised to prioritise job creation, economic growth and the welfare of Abia residents.

Before entering partisan politics, Ogala built a career in Nollywood and later became involved in political advocacy and campaigns concerning developments in Abia State.

In June, the actress was hospitalised after reportedly collapsing during a political consultation in Umuahia.

She later appeared in a wheelchair at the Federal Medical Centre, where she interacted and prayed with patients, attracting further reactions on social media.
