Six die after thunderstorm strike in Adamawa

Police explained how six people working at a farm died following a thunderstorm in Ganye Local Government Area of the state of Adamawa State.

The Police have explained how six people working at a farm died following a thunderstorm in Ganye Local Government Area of the state of Adamawa State.

The command’s Spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed this in a statement on Monday in Yola.

Nguroje said the incident occurred on Sunday at about 4; 00 p.m., in Dadiri-Tirigali village within the locality during a heavy rainfall.

According to him, the command received an emergency report from the Ganye Divisional Headquarters on the natural disaster.

“The report said that lightning had struck nine persons who were working on a farm in the village.

”On receipt of the report, personnel from the division were promptly deployed to the scene, who on reaching there found the victims lying unconscious on the ground.

”Three of the victims later regained consciousness, while the remaining six were confirmed dead by medical personnel.” (NAN)
