Barcelona seal €8.5m signing of Jesse Bisiwu

A 20 per cent sell-on clause has helped Barcelona break the deadlock in negotiations for highly rated Club Brugge winger Jesse Bisiwu.

The Catalan giants have reportedly agreed to pay a fixed €8.5 million for the 18-year-old after seeing an earlier offer worth €10 million rejected by the Belgian club.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement on Tuesday, saying both clubs were exchanging the documents required to complete the transfer.

“Barcelona seal the agreement to sign Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge, here we go,” Romano announced.

He disclosed that Club Brugge accepted the lower guaranteed fee after securing the right to receive 20 per cent of any future transfer involving Bisiwu.

The arrangement reduces Barcelona’s immediate expenditure while allowing Brugge to profit significantly if the winger’s value rises and he is eventually sold.

Bisiwu has been monitored by Barcelona for months as sporting director Deco and recruitment official João Amaral continue the club’s drive to secure promising young players before their valuations increase.

The Belgian youth international is admired for his pace, acceleration and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.

He can operate on either wing and is expected to begin his Barcelona career with Barça Atlètic.

However, Bisiwu could be handed opportunities to train and play with the senior team during the 2026/27 season if he impresses Hansi Flick.

Reports in Spain suggest the teenager could travel with the first-team squad for Barcelona’s forthcoming pre-season camp in England.

Flick is currently without several senior players following their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, potentially creating opportunities for Bisiwu and other youngsters to impress during pre-season.
