Barcelona have completed the signing of Germany forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in a deal reportedly worth €29 million ($33 million), including add-ons.
The Spanish champions confirmed the transfer on Thursday, announcing that the 24-year-old had signed a five-year contract running until June 30, 2031.
“Adeyemi becomes a new Barça player for the next five seasons,” the club said.
The versatile attacker, renowned for his speed, can operate as a central striker or on either wing.
Adeyemi becomes Barcelona’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
His arrival strengthens Hansi Flick’s attacking options after Robert Lewandowski joined Chicago Fire and Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United following his loan spell.
Barcelona have also submitted a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who remains their primary transfer target.
Flick previously handed Adeyemi his senior international debut for Germany in 2021.
Adeyemi joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and scored 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions during his four seasons with the Bundesliga club.
