Jonathan Home to Vote In Crucial Poll

President Goodluck Jonathan arrived Yenagoa, capital of his home state of Bayelsa at about 3.30pm today to vote in the governorship election scheduled for tomorrow.
His party’s candidate, Seriake Dickson is believed to have been his anointed choice for the seat. Jonathan was governor of the state before he was pulled out for service at the centre. He fell out with his successor, Timipre Sylva, who was blocked from standing for re-election on the platform of the PDP.
President Jonathan would spend the night at at the Gloryland Castle Presidential lodge owned by the Bayelsa State Government. He is being hosted at Gloryland Castle by the Acting Governor,Nestor Binabo.
The initial fog surrounding the election was cleared by Mr Godwin Offor Nwatarali,the State Resident Commissioner for Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC who told newsmen that there was no court judgement barring the Commission from conducting the election.
President Jonathan is expected to move to Otueke,his village in Ogbia local Government area tomorrow to cast his ballot for Dickson.
Meanwhile,Chris Olakpe,the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State,who was deployed to the state three days ago, ahead of the elections, has assured of adequate security as over 16,000 Policemen are on ground to ensure a hitch free election..
He warned that the Police will deal decisively with any trouble maker during and after the elections.
All major hotels in Yenagoa have been fully booked by guests who have relocated to the state capital to participate in election that would instal Seriake Dickson as the new Governor to occupy Creek Haven,after PDP disqualified the former Governor Timipre Sylva.
