Rooney’s Brace Lifts Manchester United Above Liverpool

Wayne Rooney scored two goals early in the second half to give Manchester United maximum points as they beat Liverpool 2-1 in their English Premier League match Saturday evening.

The victory shot United to the top of the EPL table, as Liverpool failed to capitalise on Luis Suarez’s 80th minute goal.

The match was filled with intrigues as Liverpool’s Suarez snubbed Manchester United’s Patrice Evra in Saturday’s pre-match handshake.

Evra also celebrated United’s win as if his club won a cup final.
