Odi Olowo/Ojuwoye Deworms School Children
The Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Aremo Adeyemi Ali has flagged off the de-worming and screening exercise for school children aged 0-12 years in the council.
The maiden exercise took place recently at Ojuwoye Primary School, Mushin, Lagos, where the chairman dewormed about 4,000 children from about four primary schools in the council.
Speaking at the event, Ali said, “since worm is one of the diseases that would not let the children live healthy lives, we decided to flag off the de-worming exercise in earnest because our children are our heritage, joy of today, leaders of tomorrow and our security for the future. Therefore, their health and well being should be of paramount importance to us,” he added.
He informed that the deworming exercise will be a quarterly exercise and will be extended to older pupils in all primary and secondary schools in the council,” he promised.
Responding, Miss Funmilayo Adediran of St. Martins Primary School, Mushin, thanked the chairman for touching the lives of school children in Odi Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA positively.
