Scrabble: More States For National Tourney

More states have shown interest in taking part in this year’s National Scrabble Championship, which will hold in Abuja from 6-8 April..

Secretary General of Nigeria Scrabble Federation, NSF, Mr. James Eakyns, said over 10 states have already registered their players for the Abuja tourney, adding that some other states have already indicated their interest to complete their players’ registration before entries close tomorrow.

P.M.Sports gathered that each state is expected to register a maximum of six players with exception of Delta State and Abuja, which are the defending champions and hosts respectively.

Registration for each state costs N18,000.

Some of the registered players are: Lagos State- Timi Olaitan, Mabadeje Biyi, Ogedengbe Wale, Akanbi Dipo, Umogbai Andrew and Akinlosotu Femi. Rivers State-Fubara Tamunosiki, Okoye Charles, Oshodi Sunday, Tetteh Julius, Gbaraba Raymond and Jumbo Samuel. Ogun State- Saheed Omotayo, Odulele Rotimi, Adeagbo Tunde, Sobowale Olumide, Afolayan Bukunmi and Quadri Fatai.

Oyo State- Rashid Balogun, Seun Oyeleke, Kazeem Raji, Abiola Adegbola, Odun Tiunyemi and Salau Samson.
