Man Loses N150,000 To Okada Robbers
A 42-year old man, Adebiyi Adeniyi who was going to deposit N150,000 in a first generation bank, at Mulero, Agege, area of Lagos State has been robbed of the money and other valuable items by suspected okada robers.
The victim who resides at Momodu Street, Papa-Ashafa said, “I was on the way to deposit the sum of N150000 in my bank account when I just saw three people on Okada and they mobbed me and collected the money, my blackberry bold 2 phone and a purse containing my ATM card.
They said I should take them to withdraw with the ATM card, I shouted ‘’thief, thief’’ and as people tried to come to my rescue the robbers broke a bottle and stabbed me on the head. As I pretended that I was dead, they fled”.
Luck ran out on the robbers as two of them, Seun Abiri Asiwaju the gang leader and Kamoru were arrested by policemen attached to Dopemu Police Station.
Crime Watch investigation revealed that on Saturday , a day after Adeniyi was attacked, the robbers who often made use of motocycle with no number plate robbed at Abule-Onigo, Ile Jide area of Alagba, Agege, Lagos.
Police sources revealed that a prominent politician in Lagos State came for their bail but the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Chris refused to release them.
The suspect have since been transfered to Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja, Lagos for further investigation.
