I Want To Emulate Vidic -Egweke

Azubuike Egwueke, home based Super Eagles defender has disclosed exclusively to P.M.Sports in Abuja that he wants to fashion his game after Nemanja Vidic, the central defender of Manchester United.

According to the Warri Wolves defender, Vidic is a classical example of a modern football central defender with his accurate tackles and pace.

Vidic, the Nigerian star said is very good in the air defensively and offensively, having scored with his head against some opposing teams.

“My role model is Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United. The way he tackles strikers in a very smooth way to disposes them of the ball is something that every defender should emulate.

“He is very good in the air, he scores with his head. He is a complete defender, a modern example of the game.” Egwueke said.

Egwueke also revealed that he is a great fan of Manchester United and he is optimistic that his beloved team win emerge champions of England at the end of the season despite the stiff opposition from Manchester City.

“I am a Man U fan any day and winning the Premier League is our birthright in Manchester United. Although, it has been very difficult this season due to the challenge from other top teams especially Man City, I am still convinced that the club will triumph. Our noisy neighbours have failed and no other team can challenge Man U for the title” he added.

The defender believes his team, Warri Wolves have what it takes to win at least a trophy and also maintain a qualifying slot for continental championship in Africa.

“Warri Wolves are still in the title race in the NPL. Our target is to do well in the CAF Confederation Cup, at least win a trophy this season,” he concluded.
