Jonathan’s Wife Paralyses Lagos Traffic

Traffic on Lagos Island, particularly on Adetokunbo Ademola Street, was paralysed for several hours today as security agents cordoned off some areas because Patience, wife of President Goodluck Jonathan was attending an event on the Island.

Mrs. Jonathan, who also attended an event yesterday evening in Lagos, also caused a severe traffic jam on the Island.

Commuters and motorists groaned today while trapped in the traffic that stretched all the way to Lekki.

The situation had not abated at the time of filing this report this afternoon.

The president’s wife was said to be in Lagos for a two-day visit to thank Lagosians for voting for her husband in the April 2011 presidential election and to mobilise women to pray against the menace of Boko Haram.
