Babangida Tasks Keshi On Team Quality

In a bid to assemble a formidable senior national team, former Nigerian international, Tijani Babangida, has advised Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, on steps to take while inviting players to the Super Eagles.
The former Niger Tornadoes and Ajax Amsterdam winger said the Eagles handler should first secure a standing team with the home-Eagles before proceeding to beef up the side with a few foreign-based players.
“The coach should start working with players from the Nigeria Premier League, NPL and try to secure enough players for each position. He can then go to Europe to get some more players to join players from the home front with the aim of strengthening the team,” Babangida said.
“The coach is in charge of the team and I believe he knows the kind of players he wants. But I think that everything depends on the players that are available for the team,” added Babangida, who was a member of Nigeria’s football gold winning team at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
