‘Cashless Policy ‘ll Eliminate Ghost Workers’
Mr. Fatai Salami, a financial expert, on Thursday said that the cashless policy being introduced by the apex bank would eliminate ghost workers.
Salami, who is the Regional Manager of Access Bank for Osun and Kwara, made the observation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
He said that anybody without a salary account in the bank duly recognised by his or her employer would be out of the payroll of the employer.
“In this case, there is no way any bank will accommodate any ghost worker in its system as the bank will have detailed particulars of the account holders,” he said.
According to him, this arrangement will enable banks to trace every customer through his or her account details and there will be no room for ghost workers anymore.
Salami said that the cash less policy would force many Nigerians to imbibe the banking culture since all transactions would be between the customer and his bank only.
According to him, moving cash from place to place can be burdensome and dangerous due to the menace of armed robbers.
