Makelemi Plans Big For Pro Golfers
The New Director of the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria, Festus Makelemi, has pledged to better the lot of the association while he is charge.
Makelemi was elected unopposed at the association’s Annual General Meeting held at Otukpo on 3 Apri, 2012 along with other members of his executive committees.
“This I believe is a test of our collective integrity and commitment. I have committed my entire life to this game and I see the same levelof commitment across this new board and a lot of experience.
“With all that in our arsenal, we have nothing to do but to take the PGA further than the last team took it on the ladder of success,” he said.
He said that his team objective would be people-focused, adding that each member will get good value as a member of the association while the hardworking ones will reap more rewards.
He said the PGA will continue to internationalise its activities.
“We have a functional website. We host international players and we will evolve in every area that is necessary to bring more value to professional golf in the country,” he said.
Other members of the new PGA executive committees include Femi Olagbenro, Director of Operations; Liadi Jaiyeola, Director of Finance; Martin Odoh, Tournament Director while Dominic Andrew and Donatus Isuku were returned as members of the executive committee.
