Kwara Target Points At Enyimba

Goalkeeper Michael Uweru has said that Kwara United are going for broke against Enyimba in midweek’s Matchday 22 in Aba.

Both sides are going into this match-up as losers to their respective Matchday 21 opponents.

Enyimba lost on the road to bottom-placed Rising Stars while the Afonja Warriors were pipped by another struggling side, Jigawa Golden Stars.

Uweru told SuperSport.com that they have mapped out plans that will see them leave the commercial nerve centre of Abia State at least with a point.

“Our game plan is to pick a point at Enyimba. Enyimba lost to Rising Stars in their last game in Ado-Ekiti and that will make them come out tough, smoking and vulnerable.

“We intend to cash in on any lapse to nip in the goal. Our plan is to try to hold and curtail the initial onslaught for 30 minutes and kill off the game.

“We lost at Jigawa Stars last week, losing again to Enyimba will not be good for our image, so we’re throwing all weapons at Enyimba to ensure we come out unscathed,” he said.

Kwara United are 15th on the log with 25 points from a possible 60 and the former Crown FC shot-stopper believes it is a poor measure of their strength.

“Our position on the log does not speak well of us. Kwara United’s place is at the top not the drop zone.

“We’re worried and that is the reason we must pick three points or at least a point at Enyimba. A defeat will worsen our plight.

“Although we won’t go on relegation but we must not take things for granted,” he said.

Kwara United picked three points off Enyimba in llorin in the first fixture.
