Gunmen Kill Kano Ward Head

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a Ward Head in Hotoro Quarters in Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Ali.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP. Magaji Majiya, who confirmed the killing in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Monday, said that Ali was killed by unknown gunmen around 7.30 p.m. on Sunday.

Majiya said no arrest had been made but that investigation had since been launched into incident.

An eye-witness, however, told NAN that the gunmen came to Ali’s house, identified him among some people and shot him dead.

“The deceased had since been buried in Hotoro Quarters in accordance with the Islamic rites,” the source said.
