Ex-Edo PDP Woman Leader Petitions IGP Over Threat To Life
Barr. Lucy Omagbon, former Woman Leader of Edo State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who recently defected to the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Director of State Security Service (SSS) over an alleged threat to her life by Edo PDP chairman, Chief Dan Orbih and others not named.
In the petition dated 7 May, 2012, addressed to the AIG zone 5 Headquarters in Benin City and made available to newsmen, Barr. Omagbon alleged that she had received two separate calls from unknown callers, who warned her that she has been pencilled down for assassination by an opposition party she decamped from.
“I decamped from the PDP and joined ACN on Thursday 19 April, 2012. Decamping happens every now and then. I do not see where I have offended them and my decamping was based on ideological differences,” Omagbon said.
She further recalled that Barrister Osahon Ahuwan, a family friend had called at the family’s home, saying that he was aware she (Omagbon) had a discussion with someone, adding that a day before that, a recorded nude video of the PDP chairman would be posted on the U-Tube.
She said Osahon requested her to prevail on somebody who was in possession of the video clip.
“I asked him how he got to know that someone mentioned such in my house? He told me Chief Dan Orbih told him. I told him such picture or video was never showed in my house and that was the truth.
“On Friday, 4 May at about 8 a.m., Osahon called, saying despite his plea
the picture of Orbih was still put in the U-tube. I swore to him with my life that I don’t know anything about it. I am surprised that I am now getting warning calls that my life is in danger. The police should please save me from the hands of these dangerous people, PDP and others,” Omagbon said.
