NDLEA Arrests Woman With 10 Grammes Of Cocaine

The Delta Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a woman with 10 grammes of substance suspected to be cocaine.

Mr. Okey Ihebom, state Commander of the agency, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at Ogwashi-Uku in Delta on Monday.

Ihebom said that the woman, an alleged notorious drug pusher, was arrested after a tip-off, adding that she had concealed the substance in a pouch she was holding like a purse.

The commander said that the suspect would soon appear in court.

He also said that no fewer than 41 suspects had been arrested in connection with various drug offences by the command.

Of the figure, 33 are males, while eight are females.

The command said it seized about 130.75 kilogrammes of substance suspected to be cannabis between February and April from the suspects.

A breakdown showed that 26.65 kilogrammes of the substance was seized in February, 46.12 kilogrammes in March while 57.98 kilogrammes was seized in April.

It also seized about 52 grammes of cocaine and four grammes of heroin within the period.

Ihebom further said that the command seized 12 grammes of cocaine in February and another 40 grammes in March, while there was no seizure in April.

However, the four grammes of heroin was seized in March.

Ihebom said that most of the suspects were already being prosecuted.
