In Pictures: Sambo leads PDP’s campaign in Edo

Vice President Namadi Sambo and Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party were among the party bigwigs that campaigned for the governorship candidate in the 14 July election.

Incumbent, Adams Oshiomhole of the Action Congress of Nigeria was even at the Benin Airport to receive the PDP bigwigs, along with Tony Anenih, the Mr. Fix It.
The duo even shook hands, but be warned: don’t believe this show of camaraderie!

At the rally at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Sambo said the PDP would re-capture Edo during the July 14 governorship election in the state.

He assured the people that the election would be devoid of violence as witnessed during the 2011 presidential election in the state and that it would be based on one-man-one-vote.

He advised youths and the electorate in general to resist any temptation to become violent during and after the election.

A former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, and two-time Governor of the defunct Bendel State, Chief Samuel Ogbemudia, as well as other party leaders, spoke of the need for a violence-free election.

Anenih urged the people to vote for the PDP candidate, Maj-Gen. Charles Arhiavbere.

He said that the presence of some party stalwarts such as Ogbemudia and Chief Gabriel Igbinedion at the rally, showed that the public desperately needed a change of administration
