Fashola Cup Final Holds 14 July

The closing ceremony of Babatunde Fashola Soccer competition will hold on 14 July at the Ibeshe College, Ikorodu, Lagos.

To reach the final stage, Insurance Football Club defeated Makbeth Football Club 1-0, while Abule Oshorun FC humbled Makbeth Football Academy 2-1 to book a place in the final.

Chairman Organising Committee, Godday Ezezobor stated that they intentionally extended the final date to allow the two finalists and organisers to have enough preparation for the closing ceremony.

He explained that it is because of lack of good preparation that make final ceremony of some grassroots football tournaments to end in violence.

Ezezobor however promised the finalists and their fans a memorable final.

“We cannot organise the final without taking a lot of things into consideration. We had some  mistakes in the past and we don’t want these to repeat itself again,” he said.

He disclosed that they have sent letters of invitations to some dignitaries that will grace the event.
