Sunshine Ready For Esperance

Nigerian club side Sunshine Stars play host to defending champions , Esperance from Tunisia in the first match of the Orange CAF Champions League group stage at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. CAFONLINE.COM spoke to Sunshine coach Olugbenga Ogunbote ahead of the encounter

How are the preparations going for this weekend’s match?

We are preparing hard for the game and we have left no stone unturned in the process to be ready . As a result of the focus and our intention to do well, we chose to hold up a closed camp. We will do our best to achieve victory in this match.

 What are your chances in this group considering the fact that you are grouped with two strong Tunisian teams?

It all depends on how prepared we are and how hard we work because it is tough at this stage of the competition anyway. No team at this stage is a pushover. All the participating teams have equal opportunities. We are looking at working hard to be among the two teams that will qualify from the group.

What is your knowledge and information  about your opponents like?

We have some sound knowledge and of course they are a big name side and general everyone  knows that they won the champions league last season. So what we know  of the team which will spur us to work even harder. The  experience we gathered from playing in the Confederation Cup last season will also come in handy for us.

You lost 3-0  in the Federations Cup, will this not affect your team come this weekend?

That result will spur us to work harder and prepare more for this encounter.We have put the result behind us and are determined to grind out a positive result when we face Esperance.
