Lucky Escape For Kidnapped Girl

A 22-year old girl who was returning to her mother’s shop was abducted by a motorcyclist and taken to Ketu, a suburb of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

The victim identified as Morufat Ahmed, resides with her parents at Isale-Oro, Elliot, Ishaga, Lagos.

She was taken by the motorcyclist at Tokotaya, Toyin Bus-stop, Ishaga and later dumped somewhere in Ketu.

Narrating her ordeal to Crime watch, she said: “On Thursday last week I left home at Elliot, as early as 7 a.m. so as to go and pick my elder sister’s daughter, Mazeedat Akewusola, 4, to school at Taju Bello street, Tokotaya Bus-stop, Ishaga, but when I got there I could not meet my sister and her daughter.

“I then decided to stop an okada to drop me at the shop in Ishaga. As I climbed the bike I immediately  lost memory until a few minutes to 10 p.m. when I regained my senses and I asked people where I was and they told me the place was Ketu.

“I was confused because I do not know anywhere in Lagos. With the help of people I was able to call my brother and mom on phone. I eventually got home late in the night.”

When Crime Watch visited Ketu around the area, the victim said she was dumped and one of the eye witnesses who gave her name as Alhaja Afusat Ibrahim, said: “God saved her because we saw her moving like someone who did not know what she was doing and when she regained her senses we directed her on how she could get home.”
