Malaika Bags US Award

Fuji star, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle Malaika a.k.a Alayeluwa, who is currently on a playing tour of the United States of America caused a big sensation in the city of London last Friday, 6 July, 2012 when he performed at  Planet Nollywood, in Camberwell.

The show, put together by Godfather Promotions was Malaika’s first in the last four years in London. Sources at the show told P.M.Entertainment that the venue was jam packed.

For about five hours, the people danced non-stop to hits from his past and current albums.

In a telephone conversation after the show, Malaika, who is billed to perform in New York City today, revealed that he was grateful to God for making the show a success. “I was very happy to see all my friends and fans in the UK turn out en-mass to honour me during the show last Friday. I am extremely happy because just the previous week (29 June) in Washington DC, after a performance, the Nigerian community there gave me the award of African International Music Ambassador, the same award given to the late Barrister during his life time.

Fatai Atere, ex-Golden Eaglet and president of the community, revealed that the award was given to me after a careful consideration of all Fuji acts because my music was considered the next in line to that of the late Barrister.

“In all, I thank God for the good things coming my way at this time, especially the release of the musical video of Proper Music which has sold thousands of copies since its release three weeks ago,” he said.
