Fed Cup: Fans, Journalists Slam Lagos FA

Fans and sports journalists, who were at the Agege Stadium, Lagos, yesterday to watch the ongoing Federations Cup matches were not happy with the way officials of the Lagos Football Association treated them

Some of the disgruntled fans said they were treated like animals after they had purchased their tickets as they were not allowed entry into the stadium in good time.

A fan, who identified himself as Sanni Mohammed said he travelled all the way from Ilorin, Kwara State, to support his team, Kwara United but was surprised that he won’t get inside the stadium despite arriving early for the match.

Another disappointed fan expressed displeasure with the overzealousness of the officials and the security operatives stationed at the gate, saying they were too harsh on the fans who leave their jobs to watch Federation Cup matches.

Sports journalists covering the tournament were not left out of the unruly behaviour of the officials as they were denied entrance to the stadium as the officials made it clear to them that all fans have to enter the stadium before them.

A reporter with the Nations newspaper took a swipe at the organisers for putting him under the sun for several hours.
