I’m Ready For Kenyan League

Abdullah Tijani started his football career with FC Dona 12 years ago. Tijani has scored three goals so far  for his club at the ongoing Prince Gas Cup, which is taken place at Igando playground, Alimosho. In this interview, he spoke about his performance and his ambition to play in the Kenyan Premier League very soon

You have scored three goals for FC Dona at the ongoing Prince Gas Cup, are you satisfied with your performance?

I am satisfied with my performance but there is still room for improvement. My target is to win the highest goal scorer award at the end of the competition.

Your team are playing their last group match against Adenrele FC this evening in Prince Gas Cup, what are your expectations?

I am expecting an outright victory over our opponents. Though we need at least a draw to qualify, we have decided to win the match. I want to score more goals to boost my chances on the scorers’ sheet.

Rumour has it that you are planning to go to Kenya to start your professional career,  how true it is?

It’s not a rumour at all because I’ve already signed for Rangers Football Club of Kenya. People may be wondering why Kenyan league. I took that decision because I want to start my professional career in East Africa before thinking of going to Europe.

Why do you not start your professional football career in Nigeria instead of Kenya?

(Laughs) I love to play in Nigeria Premier League if  good offer come from any of the clubs here in Nigeria, but as at now nothing has been forthcoming, that is why I decided to look for greener pastures in Kenya. I’m happy to say that my Manager has been able to secure a deal for me in the Kenya Premier League with Ranger FC.

Don’t you think that Kenyan Premier League is a little bit physical than Nigeria League, how would you cope with the physical aspect of the league?

I will cope by the grace of God. In fact, I have been preparing and now I’m ready for Kenyan League and I believe I’ll shine when I start playing for Rangers FC.
