Joseph Will Deck Santana —Promoter

Nigeria’s International Boxing Federation, IBF, Female Featherweight title hopeful, Helen Joseph (13-11-1), has been tipped by her promoter, Benjamin Okai, to outpunch Dominican Republic’s Dahianna Santana (35-29-6), when the two pugilists trade punches on 25 August, at Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana.

In a chat with P.M. Sports, the Ghanaian promoter said that the Rivers State-born Joseph has what it takes to overcome Santana.

“I know that Helen will surely become a world champion in August because she will beat Santana in that bout. She will overcome her opponent no matter how stubborn she may prove to be,” said Okai.

He said: “Helen has never failed to impress her fans in a big fight. She is very tough and knows how to manage big fights like this. That is why I expect her to show the whole world once again the stuff she is made of and what she is able to do in the ring.”

However, Okai said that the fight will not be a stroll in the park for the Nigerian boxer, adding that Santana will give her a run for her money.

“Helen must be very careful and work hard because Santana is a great boxer. Santana will be tough for her to overcome. She has been fighting for years and she has good experience in the sport.

“Santana is a world champion and it is not easy to attain such height in boxing. She has fought 35 times and won 29 of those fights which can be very intimidating to young and inexperienced fighters,” Okai said.
