Leadership Crisis At Orile-Agege LCDA Deepens
The leadership crisis rocking Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area has deepened, P.M.NEWS has learnt.
It was learnt that the crisis worsened on Tuesday when a fake mace was brought in by three councillors who earlier attempted to impeach their leader.
The crisis reportedly started on 24 April when three councillors moved a motion for the impeachment of Mr. Seyi Sarumi, the leader of the House.
The motion was said to have been resisted by other council members resulting in a walkout by Moshood Badmus, Azeez Akinola and Ganiyu Alonge.
Not long after that incident, a motion was moved for the suspension of the three councillors and the Clerk of the House.
The House was said to have sent a protest letter against the three councillors, the clerk and the council manager to the local government which yielded no response.
The leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria is said to have waded into the crisis and called on the Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Taofeek Adaranijo, to maintain the status quo for the sake of peace.
