Players’ Welfare Crucial To Junior League -Disu
Former coach of the Flying Eagles and Technical Director of Lagos Junior League has said that the welfare of the players and officials is paramount to the board of the league.
Speaking yesterday at the Trophy and Medals Presentation for the 2011/2012 season held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, the football tactician revealed that the motivation behind the event is the desire to improve the wellbeing of the players and the officials.
“Many of the players and officials are due for this reward due to their performances last season. That’s why we decided to organise this trophy and medals presentation to appreciate them,” said Disu.
He said: “The players and officials that excelled in the season are selected and given awards for their excellent performances. Aside, we also use the event to recognise the teams that stood out in the league.”
Disu said further that the event is a step in the right direction, adding that both the players and officials will strive to improve on the level of their performance in the coming season.
“This gesture will no doubt motivate the awardees to perform better in the coming season which will begin in September. They will have no other choice than to give their best next season since they know that they will be rewarded at the end of the season,” concluded Disu.
