Hoodlums Turn School To Hideout
Parents have expressed concern over the invasion by hoodlums of Kosofe Junior College in the heart of Akanimodo area of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
Sources claimed that hoodlums including armed robbers who were displaced in 2009 when Akanimodo and part of Ajelogo markets were demolished have found a safe haven at the school.
A parent who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the rehabilitation of the Kosofe Junior College was expected to be carried out by a contractor who had abandoned the project for reasons best reason known to him.
“Without a fence or gate, the school’s security is porous thus making hoodlums to make the school premises their haven,” the parent complained.
It was alleged that because of the security lapses at Kosofe Junior College, thieves have looted the school removing its ceiling fans, office equipment and other movable properties.
Parents have appealed to Governor Babatunde Fashola to ensure that the contractors handling the school’s fence returned to the site soonest.
