Opeifa Padfootball Enters Third Round

The third round of the Opeifa Lagos Padfootball championship begins today at Monica Street, Agege in Lagos.

Out of more than 100 participants, who began the tourney last week, only 32 qualified for the third round of the championship, being sponsored by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa.

Chairman, Organising Committee, Dapo Liadi told P.M.News that the championship is living up to expectation, saying that all the participatants who have crashed out, gave a good account of themselves.

“Most of the participants who crashed out did well in their games. Some of them cried when they crashed out. I think the third round will be tougher because all the participants are equal to the task,” he said.

Liadi disclosed that the championship has really brought the youths together during their School holidays, adding that if there is regular sporting activities in Lagos, the high rate of crime will be drastically reduced.

“I am happy that the youths of Agege embraced the game, and a lot of them do come to the viewing centre to cheer their friends to victory..”

This is to tell you that Padfootball has really brought youth together in Agege.

Liadi thanked the sponsor,Opeifa for sponsoring the game and urged the other sports philanthropists and corporate Bodies to contribute their own quota to the sports development in Lagos.
