The accused, Ayodeji Anjorin, 23; Olajide John, 24 and Rotimi Oriyomi, 26, are facing a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.

The accused, who reside at 13 and 16 Araromi St., Itire, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp. Gbelemileke Agoi, told the court that the accused were arrested on 3 October between 1a.m. and 5 a.m. with armoured cable belonging to Metropolitan Construction Company.

Agoi said the accused were arrested with the cable on the Ikota Bridge, close to the new alternate route being constructed in Ajah, Lagos.

He said the cable belonged to the construction company, employer of the three accused.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 285 (7) and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2012.

The Magistrate, Mrs F.O. Aigbokhaevbo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two responsible sureties each.
