Big Bob Kicks Against Ganja

Upcoming reggae musician, Big Bob, has condemned reggae musicians that make marijuana smoking otherwise called ganja as a catalyst for inspiration.

Lamenting the act, he argued that “you don’t need weed or any other hard drugs to get inspired. Music itself is enough inspiration for any good and natural musician, drug taking is a bad habit, and it is meant for lazy musicians.”

The Imo State-born Reggae star who was influenced into music by his mother, who was a popular cultural singer in their village, is today one of the few young musicians that strictly adheres to the original reggae music despite its dwindling situation today, especially in this part of the world.

“I chose to sing reggae because I discovered that I have defined satisfaction for that kind of music. Reggae is not just a brand of music, it’s spiritual and I am a spiritual person. You don’t sing reggae because you need money to survive, no. We are more of prophets, that it is why we still stick to it despite its dwindling fortunes. Reggae is not dying but we are in the wilderness, we will soon overcome the trend.”

Big Bob, a Lagos University Business Administration graduate who formed his 10-man band, Big Bob and the Bingy Soldiers, is presently in the studio for his debut album.
