Police Detonate Explosive Device In Minna

An explosive device suspected to be a bomb was today found in Minna, the Niger state capital, northcentral Nigeria, and detonated by the police.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the explosive was found close to Abdulsalami motor park along Minna/Suleja road.
The explosive which was packed in an envelope was dropped by unidentified persons beside the major road.
Eye witness acount indidicates that it was a staff of the state Environmental Agency that raised the alarm while clearing filth on the road.
P.M.NEWS further learnt that those who planted the bomb may have targeted the state secretariat and state House of Assembly which are less than 100 metres away from the motor park.
The police bomb squad was drafted to the scene to detonate the explosive.
Niger state Police Command comfirmed the incident but declined to give details.
